Subject: Std P1364-Y2K : 3.9 Integers not regarded as hardware registers???

Section 3.9 Integers, reals, times, and realtimes states:
"An integer is a general-purpose variable used for manipulating quantities
that are not regarded as hardware registers."
But we all know that types integers (including range declarations for
integers) and Times are supported in synthesis and can represent registers.
That statement is ambiguous. Should'nt it be changed to reflect the actual
implementations?
