Hi Jay,
Accellera requires any donations to go through a legal process
first. I personally had commitments by Bluespec since July.
It was not recorded by August 4th due to legal discussion first
and to understand the extent of the extensions. So you can blame me for the
delay. You know for sure that we set dates that are targets.
I have asked my chairs to provide a date extension in this case and
I got a full agreement to do so, as long as we meet the second deadline
(September 15) for submitting the written proposal. All my chairs agreed to
make an exception in this special case. So now we have the final proposal
before September 15, and Bluespec met the extension date. I have also asked
Karen, about the load in the committee, and she said that the committee can
handle that and keep the final date.
I am sure if Cadence wants to consider a complimentary donation to
SystemVerilog, we will also build a special case to extend that date. We
have set a second date to help ensure that we are flexible for good
technology donation.

Best Regards

Vassilios

Vassilios and Karen,

Was there a "submission commitment" for the bluespec donation?

I believe the agreed upon process was to receive a submission commitment by
August 4. I don't recall seeing that.

Jay
