"null" is always discussed as a "special value" and isn't part of the literals in the integer space. The only contexts in which "null" is explicitly permitted is along with event, class, chandles, and covergroup variables. Since "null" has no definite type and isn't discussed as a numeric value, I don't think that there would be any justification for considering integer typed operations as permitting null. Gord.
