In the light of recent comments about equivalent types in array copying, perhaps some further changes are needed: - in your proposed new text for 7.6 Array assignments (first sentence of new text): have assignment-compatible array element type should instead be have elements of equivalent type Happily you've made all the other "assignment-like" situations refer back to this same definition, so I think that's the only required change.
