Yes, I have always assumed that it should really be described as a method, and that it behaves as you have described. It may seem strange that if you try to wait for event.triggered() to go false, that you will never see it. But if you think about it, that has to be the case. If a process could wake up on it going false at the end of the time slot, then that process would be running in the same slot where it was triggered, but seeing triggered false. That would be a contradiction.
