Cliff, It looks good. The changes to the diagram make it much easier to follow. A few corrections, and wording changes... Page 2, first paragraph (ignoring deleted paragraph at top), first sentence, beginning with "The Observed, Reactive, Re-Inactive..." should also include the Post-Observed, Pre-Re-NBA and Post-Pre-NBA regions. Page 2, first paragraph, first sentence, change "...are new in this standard and events are only scheduled into these new regions from new language constructs" to "...are SystemVerilog additions to the Verilog regions, and events are only scheduled into these new regions from SystemVerilog language constructs and PLI extensions". [REASON: this is no longer a "new standard]. Page 2, second (new) paragraph, last sentence, change "Re-Pre-NBA" to "Pre-Re-NBA". Page 2, fourth paragraph, first sentence, change "The new #1step..." to "The #1step...". [REASON: this is no longer a "new standard]. Page 2, fourth paragraph, near end, change "...in this previous time slot." to "...in the previous time slot.". Page 2, fifth paragraph, second sentence, change "A #0 control delay specified in a program block..." to "A #0 control delay specified in a reactive region set...". Page 2, fifth paragraph, add a carriage return before the fourth sentence, which begins with "A nonblocking assignment. Page 2, sixth paragraph, delete the entire paragraph which begin with "The Pre-Active, Pre-NBA...are new in this standard...". [REASON: this is no longer a "new standard, and these regions are described on the next page, again]. Page 2, seventh paragraph, delete the entire paragraph which begin with "The Pre-Re-NBA...are new in this standard...". [REASON: this is no longer a "new standard, and these regions are described on the next page, again]. Page 3, seventh paragraph, last sentence, Move the sentence beginning with "The flow of execution..." to the beginning of the ninth paragraph, which begins with "The Active, Inactive, ...". [REASON: This sentence starts a new train of thought, that has no bearing on the paragraph that it is in.] Page 3, eighth paragraph, remove the box from around the paragraph beginning with "The Postponed region...". Page 3, tenth paragraph and note, move the paragraph beginning with "The Preponed region..." and the note which follows to before the ninth paragraph. [REASON: This paragraph and note belong with all the other paragraphs that relate to the PLI. Page 4, second paragraph, change "active event regions" to "active region set". Page 4, second paragraph, delete the parenthetical clause "(or Re-Inactive for reactive region set events)". [REASON: this is redundant with the description of the Re-Inactive region on page 3, and adds confusion to his paragraph on the Inactive region.] Page 4, third paragraph, change "active event regions" to "active region set". Page 4, third paragraph, delete the parenthetical clause "(or Re-NBA for reactive region set events)". [REASON: this is redundant with the description of the Re-NBA region on page 3, and adds confusion to this paragraph on the NBA region.] Page 5, fifth paragraph, merge to the end of the previous paragraph. [REASON: both paragraphs are only one sentence long, and both discuss the same Postponed region.] In addition to these corrections and clarifications, I am tempted to suggest three reorganizations, but that may be too much for this proposal... 1) Divide the entire clause into two sub clauses: "9.3.1 Simulation regions" and "9.3.2 PLI regions", and put all of the paragraphs describing each region to the appropriate sub clause. 2) Move the region diagram into sub clause 9.3.1 (which would become 9.3.3) with the algorithm description 3) In each sub clause, list the region descriptions in the same order in which they appear in the diagram (as it is now, the reactive region set is described first, then all the PLI regions, and then the active region set; a bit confusing). Call me if you need me to explain these edits more clearly.
