Subject: [sv-ec] Meeting logistics (19 February) and future.
From: David W. Smith (david.smith@synopsys.com)
Date: Wed Feb 12 2003 - 09:13:57 PST
The next meeting of the SV-EC will be held on Wednesday 19 February from
9:00 until 11:00 am.
The focus on this meeting will be to finish the review of chapters 11 and
12. In order to facilitate this I request that ALL issues that are to be
addressed in this meeting be sent to the reflector by Friday of this week. I
have summarized all of the issues raised for Chapter 11, have taken care of
all of the typographically related comments, and have collected responses
for the rest. This summary will be sent out today or tommorrow. None of the
topics in their will be raised in the meeting unless someone takes exception
to the responses. What this means is that completing the review for Chapter
11 should be very quick.
For Chapter 12 I will do the same. I have collected all of the issues that
have been sent up to now and will organize them along with any responses I
receive. The typographically oriented issues will be turned into change
items before the meeting. All items received by Friday will be included in
the collection. I will try and get the responses out by Tuesday so that
people will have a chance to review them before Wednesday morning. I plan to
use this document and and responses to go through Chapter 12.
I am scheduling another meeting on Thursday 20 February also from 9:00 until
11:00am just in case we do not finish the review of Chapter 12. If the
review on the 19th completes then the meeting on the 20th will be cancelled.
I know that some of you will not be available for these meetings. This is
why I am requesting all issues to be in writing before the meetings.
The goal is that by the meeting on the 27th (4 hour) we have finished our
review of all of the chapters in the document. This will leave the meeting
on the 27th to cover the appendices, open extensions with solutions (handle
EXT-18 and hopefully a solution to TRN-10 by then), any unresolved changes,
and any unresolved issues.
One last point. In the last meeting we spent a considerable amount of time
discussing an issue that had not been sent to the reflector before the
meeting (it had been alluded to before). A proposal was made and voted on to
a solution that was created in the meeting. In the future I will delay votes
on solutions that are created during the meeting (at my discretion) until
after the proposal has been written and sent to the reflector for
discussion. Please help me in this so that we can be sure that all it
proposals that we vote on can have serious consideration.
Regards
David
