Accellera Elects New Officers Dennis Brophy Continues as Chair, Shrenik Mehta Elected Vice Chair
NAPA, Calif. - October 15, 2002—Accellera, the electronics industry organization focused on
language-based design standards, today announced that its Board members-- systems, semiconductor
and design tool companies-- have elected officers at their meeting last month.
Dennis Brophy, director of strategic business development at Model Technology, a Mentor Graphics
company, was elected Accellera's chair for a third term. Shrenik Mehta, senior engineering manager,
Sun Microsystems, was elected vice chair. Steve Wang, vice president and co-founder, Axis Systems,
was elected treasurer. Karen Bartleson, director of quality and interoperability, Synopsys, was
re-elected secretary for a third term.
Accellera's efforts are the basis for improving the way designers will design circuits and systems
in the 21st century, and I am proud to be re-elected chair of an electronics industry organization
with momentum and a proven design standards approach, said Dennis Brophy.
Shrenik Mehta, vice chair of Accellera added, "Sun is a founding member of Accellera, and as design
automation tool users, we are the beneficiaries of Accellera's design standards efforts. I would
like to encourage other users and corporations to join the organization and contribute to our
standards efforts.
