Well, the LRM talks about "variables" as the actuals of
ref formals.  A very narrow interpretation would disallow
any select (array, field, etc) but that seems overly
restrictive.  Allowing selects into unpacked aggregates
seems to be the right balance.  But no, the LRM is not
clear about exactly what should be legal.
