I uploaded a new proposal for 1571. This is the version that should be voted on in the email vote. I deleted the sentence that a call of a macro without arguments may not have parentheses, due to an ambiguity that Eric pointed out. It is anyway outside the proper scope of this Mantis. Similarly, I deleted the paragraph specifying the time of expansion of macro arguments relative to their substitution in the macro text, as Eric and Gord had reservations about it and it is also really outside the scope of 1571. If someone wants it in, it should be a separate Mantis.
