SVDB 907 _x_Yes ___No http://www.eda.org/svdb/view.php?id=907

I vote yes, but if it is necessary to reword, I suggest:

"If no default value is specified for a parameter of a design element,
then an overriding parameter value shall be specified in every
instantiation of that design element (see 22.9). If there is no explicit
instantiation of such a design element, then the implementation shall
not generate an implicit instantiation of the design element (see 22.3,
22.4, and 23.3). However, this shall not be an error."

SVDB 1134 _x_Yes ___No http://www.eda.org/svdb/view.php?id=1134

I vote yes, but regarding the stickiness, maybe we should add more
explicitly that this includes type parameter declarations.

SVDB 1348 _x_Yes ___No http://www.eda.org/svdb/view.php?id=1348
SVDB 1464 _x_Yes ___No http://www.eda.org/svdb/view.php?id=1464
SVDB 1468 _x_Yes ___No http://www.eda.org/svdb/view.php?id=1468
SVDB 1588 _x_Yes ___No http://www.eda.org/svdb/view.php?id=1588
SVDB 1619 _x_Yes ___No http://www.eda.org/svdb/view.php?id=1619

I vote yes, but as a follow-up, I would also like to see an example or
examples that show the following:

1. default value is a constant expression involving a parameter
2. parameter override in instantiation to show that instance default
uses new parameter value
3. have same parameter identifier defined in scope of instantiating
module, to show that parameter identifier is resolved to that in the
declaration, not in the instantiation location.

Maybe also some text to clarify these.

SVDB 1792 _x_Yes ___No http://www.eda.org/svdb/view.php?id=1792
SVDB 1940 _x_Yes ___No http://www.eda.org/svdb/view.php?id=1940
SVDB 2024 _x_Yes ___No http://www.eda.org/svdb/view.php?id=2024
SVDB 2056 _x_Yes ___No http://www.eda.org/svdb/view.php?id=2056

I have tried to enter all the still-relevant comments into the Mantis
items.

Shalom
