I have uploaded a new proposal for Mantis 1111, regarding the range of a port declaration not matching the range of its net/variable declaration. This is a strawman proposal. My feelings won't be hurt if everyone tells me I did not get the rules correct. The rules I specified are based on my observations from one tool. I will share the test case I used, if anyone requests it. Note that the tool I tested does not issue warnings, but my proposal is to require warnings.
