Alec,
There has been no communication to me about what the process is for P1800. I
have created accounts based on the last meeting of SV. No problem doing the
other but the Chair of P1800 will have to communicate his preferences and
process for that to occur.

The process we defined for SV was that the database will contain the
definition of the problem and the solution. The discussion will occur on the
reflector. It is up to the chair (and the committees) to assign problem
owners. The committees are then responsible to discuss the proposed solution
(as documented in the system) and come to an approved resolution (also
documented in the system). How much discussion is captured with the bug is
up to the committee.

The only reason for having this distinction is that we did not want to have
to create user logins and passwords for 200-300 people. Many of the people
that sign-up for the reflector are not active in the committees and we are
trying to limit the management task to support only the active committee
members.

When I login to the bug system with guest/guest and then select "View Bugs"
from the top menu I find 19 bugs entered in the system.

Regards
David

Subject: [sv-bc] Re: [sv-ec] SV Extensions Bug Database

David,

Why are these accounts created only for companies that are members of
Accellera and not for companies that joined P1800 which was just
created? Is the SV-Extensions Bugs Database not transfered to IEEE
along with the SV language?

Also, who has status permitting to respond to questions, given that
the companies that are members of Accellera do not have such status
(and other companies are even less likely to have such right)? In
other words, who grants such a right and what is the process (if any)
by which such right is granted?

Thank you advance for clarifying these issues.

Alec Stanculescu

PS: Thank you again for extending the guest account for people
interested in SV but who are not affiliated to Accellera. I tried to
use it but I could not find any bug in the Data Base. Is it the case
that bugs are not yet recorded in the Data Base or did I do something wrong?
