Dear SV members,
In the last week we have started the transition from language
development to the LRM review process. This is a great milestone, and thanks
for the hard work by many of you. As we have done in the past, we encourage
everyone to help in the review period, and provide corrections and
clarifications. We established cross-committees review, to help in quality
improvement of the LRM. We have already started an external review process
(non-committee members) by industry expert volunteers.

Now that all changes for Draft 4 are in and Draft 4 is available (or
soon will be) we need to change our process. We have less than 2 weeks (Feb.
11) to get the review of Draft 4 complete and less than 4 weeks (Feb. 25)
until Draft 5 review needs to be completed and we vote on technical approval
of the LRM (Feb. 26). In order to meet these deadlines we need to follow the
following process:
        1. Committees focus on reviewing existing material for editorial
consistency and corrections. David Smith is the owner for the LRM, and
everyone should put him in the loop for LRM corrections.
        2. Editorial changes can be sent to David Smith, for inclusion in
the LRM, with minimal committee review and approval (as specified by each
committee chair) since no change of meaning will be included. All changes
will be captured at www.eda.org/sv <http://www.eda.org/sv> (as we have been
doing) under the appropriate LRMDraft link.
        2. Any technical corrections (change of meaning or content) can be
captured and processed by the committee. Any items that are deemed critical
by the committee can be passed to the SV Chairs and Champions for discussion
and approval to be included in the LRM.
        3. Any technical corrections and/or editorial corrections that do
not make it into 3.1a will be considered for inclusion in an errata sheet
that will be prepared and distributed with the final LRM. The decision on
what is included in the errata sheet will be made by the SV Chairs and
Champions.
        4. Please review the proposed LRM changes on the WEB. This review
will help to increase the quality of the draft 5 LRM.
As has been observed this is a tight schedule to meet the delivery
commitments and the hard work by all committee members is appreciated.
My Deepest Thanks And Regards
Vassilios
