Greetings,
It came to my attention recently that not everyone is aware of the process
we are using for developing the BNF for 3.1. Vassilios sent some email
earlier discussing this and I want to take this opportunity to expand upon
it and also the guidelines that are being used.

Stefen Boyd and Dan Jacobi have taken responsibility for developing the 3.1
BNF for all four committees. Stefen is doing the primary consolidation and
editing while Dan has taken responsibility for first pass review and
resolution of issues. Stefen has been in contact with individuals from each
of the groups gathering information.

The BNF in 3.0 was derived from the SuperLog BNF and reworked to match the
1364-2001 BNF (mostly). The intent is to integrate changes from the 1364 BNF
(current work within IEEE) and all of the SV 3.1 changes into a single BNF.
It will be as complete and parsable as the IEEE version.

Stefen and Dan are hard at work on this and hope to have results by the
Face-to-Face meeting next week.

If there are specific issues that any committee has they should contact
Stefen (stefen@boyd.com) or Dan (dan.jacobi@intel.com) directly to let them
know of your concerns/issues so that we can work through them.

Regards
David W. Smith
