Subject: Appointment of Chairs For SystemVerilog Basic Committee

Hello Dear SystemVerilog Committee Members,
As several of you know, Cliff asked me to replace him as the chairman of the
basic of committee.
I tried to entice him to continue, but he declined. His reasons are
understandable. At the request
of IEEE 1364 committee leader(s), Cliff was asked to write a letter to the
Accellera board to stop
the effort of 3.1 and move 3.0 to IEEE. Cliff is an advocate of
SystemVerilog, he is a valuable
contributor, and he also have good moral integrity. I wish him the best.
In the last week, I have contacted two people for chair and co-chair for the
basic committee. So,
I am pleased to announce that Karen Pieper has accepted the co-chair person.
I believe she is a
good leader and is definitely a team player. She will immediately start
acting as the chair from toady until I get
a chairman assigned. I am proud that she accepted to be part of
SystemVerilog chairs team.
Cliff, could you please help her and get her up to speed to the latest
detail about the basic
committee and the milestones. Please note that Cliff will continue to help
us.
By the way, this is the first for Accellera to have a woman for a
chairperson.
