I'm probably missing something basic....

Consider a uP model with the pins of the micro
modeled as sc_logic.  The pins can be 0, 1, or Hi-Z (input)

Consider an ASIC with it's output only pin modeled as 
sc_bit. The pins can only be 0 or 1 (pin is alays an output)

To connect the two "chips" I must:

a) Modify one of the models to have compatible pins.
b) Build a special interface module between the ASIC
   and the uP to convert 0,1 of sc_bit to 0,1 
   of sc_logic.

Both of these seem unsatisfactory since electrically
the ASIC is compatible with the uP.
